I have been doing a lot of research about chickens and starting a small flock at my home in central NY. I thought it would be a great family experience. After finding the breed that I wanted, Orpingtons, I finally decided to build a coop and order chicken on line.
I have been chicken obsessed the past few weeks.
Yesterday I got a call from the post office that my 6 chicks arrived. I rushed down to the post office only to find that all 6 were dead! I was very upset and a bit discouraged. I called the hatchery I ordered them from and they were great about sending new chicks, no questions asked. I hope this next time is not a big disappointment, they told me that this was very unusual.
