New to chickens?

No problem. Just ask if you need more help!

For a small batch we used a large Rubbermaid tote as a brooder. This last time we used a huge stock tank in the garage. I simply must stop.....

(but I won't)

I love those! And when it's not in use, it looks like it folds down nicely. Not that I need another brooder. But I might.

lol, I have one overly large own, (like picture) but I used a smaller one. We have SO many g-pig cages. Like 3 small ones and 1 big

hannah3marlette, I hope we are not scaring you. They just are so much fun that you end up getting more if space allows. So far I have kept my promise to not get or hatch any during winter. So far so good.

Haha not at all! It's getting my excited if anything! As for the coop I am really pumped to build one and I think we'll end up going the cheapo route with the brooder seeing as its only a short time thing

Ok another question.... what goes into buying chicks online? I was looking on one of the chickens for backyards sites listed below and I'm curious as to if this would be any different than buying locally? How are they delivered?

Probably the beginning of the year, March or April perhaps? And I live in Texas so it's pretty much hot all the time, save a few weeks out of the year.
