Hi everyone! :)

I’m Lloyd, I’m new to duck keeping and I have 4 Muscovy ducks - 1 drake and (hopefully) 3 females.

So far we’ve managed to get the ducks into the routine of going to bed and are looking forward to them giving us some eggs once they’ve fully settled and adjusted to their new surroundings. Melvin and his girls (Mavis, Betsy and Edith) we’re timid at first but are slowly but surely realising we aren’t so bad after all, and are really starting to grow in confidence day by day - their personalities are really starting to show through.

I live in the UK with my lovely partner (James) and our 3 dogs (Hugo, Donny and Henry). We are both teachers and enjoy running in any spare time between walking the dogs and spending time with family.

I found BYC as I was researching duck care, and often search results to threads here popped up (with plenty of great information), so it seemed sensible to join and be a part of this community.

I look forward to getting to know you all and learning more! :)

:welcome Muscovy are one of my favorite breed of Ducks. Once they get to know you they will be like little dogs following you around and wagging their tails. Come on over to the duck forum and introduce yourself and them.

Hello, Lloyd, and welcome to BYC. Muscovies generally are not prolific egg layers. They tend to lay a clutch and then go broody. I suppose that if you remove their eggs daily you might extend their laying cycle. good luck with your flock.
