Hi! I have 5 golden 300 ducklings. They’re quickly outgrowing their brooder. There is an enclosure near our pond left by previous owners but I’m not sure what lived in it. Do you think it could work for ducks? The back part with the little door is insulated and has a small doorway leading to the rest of the covered area. What age would be appropriate to move them to it? And what would I need to do to make it duck safe? Thank you in advance. My 6’3 husband next to the pond for scale.

Looks like it’s going to need ventilation and hardware cloth to protect from predators getting to them. Once they are fully feather around 5-6 weeks they are old enough to be outside. Make sure every opening including ventilation ( windows etc) are covered in 1/2” hardware cloth to keep predators out. Also make sure the floor hasn’t any holes or rotting wood it’s amazing what predators will do to get to a free meal.
