Introducing new groups of chickens can sometimes take several weeks, and sometimes longer to coexist peacefully. There seems to be more stress and drama when the birds are older or bigger. I've had very good luck integrating young chicks... I brood them in the coop within view of the flock, open small passages for the chicks at about 3 weeks old to let them mingle with the others, and by 4-5 weeks they're integrated practically unnoticed. I would highly recommend early integration if you ever decide to add more in the future.
