New to Quail

Look for nutri drench or rooster booster or a similar vitamin/electrolyte blend at your feed store, and then it usually gets mixed into the water. You may have to dip it's beak in/force it a little.

Depends on how old they are, they are usually *okay* for the first 24 hrs but I like to get them food within 8-12.

You can raise your quail in contact with the ground on deep bedding, deep litter, straight dirt, sand—any substrate, really.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but with deep bedding/litter on ground, do you have to clean out the poop or does it get mixed in with soil?

Nah, they'll be fine. They nap 24/7.

I think you remove the worst/wet spots and then mix the rest in with clean bedding to get composted - at least that's how we've kept horses in the past, but hopefully someone doing it with birds chimes in.

Depends on the individual situation, honestly. I am about to have two batches six days apart, and I would plan to be able to keep them separate but tentatively try mixing them. Just watch for bullying and that everyone's getting enough to eat/drink/heat up with.
