Thank you for all the welcomes and for the info. I had a couple that got pasty butt, but I got them cleaned up and so far it hasn't come back. They won't have anything to do with us, tho. I wanted them to be tame before we put them out in the big coop, which I am assuming will be in about 2 or 3 months.

I have chicks that are about a month old. When do I start giving them chicken feed vs chick feed? Are there any other foods I can give chickens (vegetables)?

I believe they have to have grit to eat anything other than chick food so if you try giving them anything else make sure they have grit.

do they say that they are good for baby chicks?

If they are that new I would wait another two weeks before introducing them to other foods than their chick feed and foods that are baby-chick friendly. When they're around a month old, I'd start giving them watermelon and worms and other foods like that. Wait till their older to start giving them other foods. Just avoid cantalope. The chickens love it, but it makes them fart. and you do NOT want to smell a chicken fart.

Do you know when to let your chicks outside and such?

Darn! Was hoping chickens were less fussy eaters; my rabbits won't eat cantaloupe.
