New to raising chicks but also have a cat will they get along?

Do you have more than one chick? Chickens are social animals and do better in groups of three+. I like @the_peanut_coop 's suggestion. It's best to cover the brooder with wire to prevent the larger animals from getting in. Once the chicks (now pullets and/or cockerels) move to the coop, the cat shouldn't give them any issues, even if it's an outdoor cat. Good luck!

I got four baby chicks. I live in NJ also wondering if the weather is ok for them. Today was a beautiful day and all the chick were bought from supply tractor.

I’m handling them trying to get them use to human touch. Just love them.

Yes, chicks are so cute and wonderful! Keep handling them, and helping them associate good things with you, and they will love being near you. Congrats on the chicks! Do you know what breeds they are?
