New to raising ducks! Have some questions if anyone can help! :)

It depends on the drake. Many are fine. Just keep watch. If he gets too rough, time him out for a while. And stay in touch here.

Pekins and Rouens...I would guess around seven months, but again it depends on the ducks. About a month after my Runners started playing hop on top, the first egg was laid. Within six weeks the rest of the flock was laring.

Thank you for the advice! Mine get lots of free range and veggies every day as well! I've never heard of the dry cat food though!
Your welcome...As for the dry cat food it is only a handful two or three times a week. Mine love it. I just put it on the ground and they gobble it up. I use the sea food type dry cat food.
It works as a substitute for protein being mine do not catch frogs or minnows at all.

I have been reading the ingredients on these cat food, and I'm surprised to see some of them had brewer's yeast or niacin, which are the 2 ingredients I always worried about to make sure my ducks had. However, I feel a bit weird that some of them also have some kind of poultry by-product, even the seafood ones. I guess I'll get over it though, if it has the majority of "seafood" or "fish" as the main ingredients. It sounds like a great way to get them some extra protein.

Most, but not all cat foods have byproducts in them so that is the draw back.
But that is a good idea

Have no worries over the poultry by products....The cat food also gives them nice shiny feathers.
Just a heads up though, only give a handful two or three times a week, on the ground or in a bowl. I have six ducks and I have been giving them about a cup every three days or so.
Thanks for liking my input....

I will definitely get some dry cat food for them and give it a couple of times a week! I also have 6 ducks. I'm sure they will love it!
