We talk turkey all the time.

You will notice by now they are imprinted on you. They will follow you for life. They can be with the chickens as long as you know there are a few dangers.

Blackhead being the main one and MS the second. MS will not really hurt them 90% of the time other than slow down their growth rate.

Blackhead can be deadly. I raise mine with the chickens and have never had a problem, but I am aware of it.

The turkeys and chick really do not notice the differences between them at this age and even older they seem to get along fine.

Enjoy them.

Thank you... I've read about blackheads. It kind of scary to me but i put them with baby chicks before i knew about it... They seem to love my daughter better tho...

Turkeys seem to imprint harder on a people than chickens do so they are more "lovable". Just beware it can be cute now, but when it is a 40 pound Tom and wants to challenge you over a hen, it is not so fun.

That is never a problem, the degree of tameness is. You might want to wait until you can pick out the boys and girls but that can take months sometimes.

Then tame the hens more so the boys somewhat "respect" you.

I start baby turkeys at 90 deg F for a week. they get lettuce sliced as thin as grass to start them eating for a month. I grind dry cat food purina cat chow to a powder and mix it with turkey starter 50/50 also ground to a powder in a blender. the cat food is 33%protein and they need it. It helps them a lot to grind the starter for the first 2 weeks of their life
