New to site and in trouble already

O
OR, doesn't have to be Trader Joe's. Any health food store or grocery store that carries fertile eggs will do.  Giant does here in their organic section.  Just buy a dozen, take them home, warm them to room temperature gradually then pop them in the incubator.  Some should hatch.  Usually they will hatch a production layer of large brown eggs or whatever color the egg you started with was.
Doing this is on my "to do" list.

Only stores here carry England's best eggs looking into a rooster now hoping he has some hens laying so I can get some eggs if needed

That is great news. I am excited for you. I hope that rebuilding your flock provides you with great joy.

And it was funny the lady that had them took them from a lady she knew that had way to many roosters and gave them to her not knowing what to do with them. I thank God for all the little things that happen like that. And I thank you all for all the support You guys and Gals are GREAT!!

Hey all my name is Tim Hull I started raising chickens last spring after getting some biddies from Tractor supply. Not having chickens for years I couldn't pass up the opportunity of getting 60 biddies for 40 bucks so after a while I had about 40 full sized birds this last fall 5 roosters and 35 hens all was great then started getting eggs bunches 20+ a day. But about two weeks ago we had an issue with my hen house and I lost almost 30 birds (neibours dogs). Of course I was devastated no fresh eggs dead birds everywhere and animal control not giving a dang about looking for the dogs that did it.
So here I am in trouble no roosters left, and I had 3 great big ones that were over 14lbs! So knowing I can't recoup the funds to buy more birds or biddies from hatcheries. I'm on disability and the birds have become my self preservation project. So all I could do is look at what I could do with very little funds namely feed money and some I had from selling eggs about 100 dollars. So with about 14 eggs that wasn't put in the fridge I ordered an incubator. Well it came in yesterday. It's set up and running with a bunch of eggs that I saved from the dreaded fridge. All are over two weeks old. My sitting hen (her first sitting gave me 2 biddies) was one of the ones that got it. Knowing that with the terror the birds I had left wouldn't even try to sit. I have never used an incubator before so all this is new. But I'm hoping that you experts on here might help out me and my delema. By any advice you can give me. My first question is can you incubate refrigerated eggs that are over two weeks? If so I can fill the rest of the incubator tomorrow on the second level and better my chances on getting my flock back. Please help
Have u tried to recoup some of your loss from the dogs owners? Always worth a shot. Good luck

Had the so-called animal control out her they looked around agreed it was dogs said they would look for the dogs then left for town no hope there this was the third time I had suffered from dog attacks and always no help from animal control only thing I was told is that I might get into trouble if I shoot the dogs
