My month and a half old chicks have been in their coop for about a week now but the don’t go up the ramp to the nesting/roosting area. They stay on the ground. Should I just put them up there and then take them out in the morning? If I do that I would have to block off true opening to the ramp. It’s getting cool at night and I think they would be warmer up top. Thanks

The top little room is what is called a coop. Where they sleep and lay eggs.
The downstairs area is called their 'run.'

Yes...I would physically put them to bed in their coop at night until they figure it out.

Welcome to BYC!

It can take them awhile to learn to go into coop.
Usually you leave them locked in the coop only for a week or so, then let them out in the run.
Sprinkle some scratch grains on the ramp.
Might also shorten the ramp and put a concrete block under the low end so it's not so steep.
More cleats would help too.
