My Brooder I built and the first Nakin chicks I ordered from Ideal Poultry. This was the first carpentry project I've done in 15 years. I used no building plans or even scribbled the most basic of design, so I'm kinda proud of my work, but like all things I do I over engineer. I built it from pine to reduce insects, it has WIFI controlled lights that you can set the time on/off, the floor is a finer mesh than the top and is also removable for easy cleaning, wooden door stops so that the doors can be opened, stay up and easily be reached to close, it has it's own stand made of treated wood and has latches that can be locked if needed. I already have some nakins, cochin and silkie bantams as well as an assortment of Pavlovskaya in my incubator. So I'm off to the races. Now I have 4 weeks to get a coop and run done, but I will definitely plan that out and not just wing it like the brooder.
