:frow Welcome!! I’m impressed with the size of your dressed birds! :highfive:
Sometimes the new layers will start up during a blizzard. You never know. If you sit in the coop, eating fried chicken, it might motivate them to get started!
:D

Well, you just never know. Young pullets are not predictable. Mine usually lay eggs straight through their first winter, but they will have started laying in the summer. An odd circumstance caused me to get 4 chicks in late August this year. I know I wont get any eggs from them until spring.
I know that I may not get any eggs this winter, but I can hope for a nice surprise. They are young, and are supposed to be good cold weather layers. I will post any success here.

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

All my orps waited until 24-28 weeks to start laying. BUT...once they start, they are fabulous layers, even during the coldest of winters. Enjoy all your ventures and welcome to our community!
