So these are my two poults that I was worried were starving themselves. They are eating more now, especially when they dump their food bowl over. But here's a question. They are supposedly Red Bourbons. But one of them has significant barring in its feathers compared to the other. I honestly don't care if it isn't a Bourbon, I'd just like to clarify whether it is or is not and whether it would dictate hen vs. tom in that particular breed? Or do I perhaps have another breed that got mixed in with the reds? Either way I love them to bits, although the barred one likes to get out of their pen. He/she is a houdini.

Time will tell if they are mixes, for now they appear to be bourbon reds. Their size is sometimes a sign as far as sex, the toms will often be heavier at that age.
