And look HBR b/c we all now want to see the chickens, 'just cause...

Really love all the blocks & fabrics everyone else has posted so far! This will be a lovely quilt...

FeyRaine,
Love your fabrics in fact I have that brown on white flower print!
love you chickens too what kind are they? I have bantam Barred Rocks, I know that is not right. I can't remember my Chicken abbreviations!
I have ordered some fabric online for this swap I hope it turns out okay, you know how monitors can fool us.

Glad you like the fabric :)

Those birds are my Heritage Barred Rocks , I don't get any credit for their looks, I got them as half grown birds.

What kind of eggs do they lay? Do you have the roo's to go with them? if not what kind of roos do you have and if I can ask or PM me what town in TN do you live?

I may want to buy some eggs from you. I just read your profile you have turkeys, do you raise them to eat? I have 2 turkeys that are supposed to be BBB but not sure and have not found anyone who can tell me if they are hens or toms

oh and if your close enough I'd come and pick the eggs up, the postal service seems to like to really try and hurt the little guys

What are we? these are young birds the turkeys are about 4 to 5 months here, they are now 8.5 months. When do toms start looking like toms? the birds don't look much different now just bigger

I also read that your are looking for Black Jersey Giants, I have found a lady that sells hatching eggs, she wants $3.00 an egg if you find the chicks or eggs cheaper let me know. I have been looking for those birds too. wow chicken math crazy they are like Doritos you can't have just one and they keep making more.

@katsdar HaHa yes on chicken math !!
I'm not an expert on the turkeys but those dark ones are not Bourbon Red (ours where basically the same red color from a few days old when we got them). We only have the 2 females, I've been looking half heartedly for a Tom, got to get serious about it for this spring. The girls spent half the summer trying to sit piles of infertile eggs , it was sad really. I'll put you on the list if we can get a Tom.

I've not got any of the H. BR (or my Heritage Buckeye) eggs either for that matter. , lets just say Murphy moved in w/ me along w/ the Buckeyes last Feb. & I've been fairly well cursed on chicken luck ever since. BUT it is about my turn for some good luck and I have high hope for the spring! Consider yourself first on the list for when I have hatching eggs to sell. (That will be late spring or summer b/c I need some replacement stock for myself, & I have 1 person I promised chicks to waiting).

This is Mr. Buckeye, sadly for me I think his first name must be Murphy...
