New Year Block swap

@Kassaundra I bought my fabric this afternoon so no switching for me now! My earth tones have Autumn flavor....

@majack Mug quilt swap sounds fun. I looked at those on the google page and couldn't figure out what some of them were rectanagles. It leaves room for the mug and cookies that's why! I want to make those!

I see we are settled on 12 blocks still, (fine either way, 12 or more)

Not into the mug thing, just way too many other quilts etc I'm behind on for anything that feels like a new project.

Today in farm news , the piggies LOVE cucumber, which is really important this week...
the chickens are not interested, but one dog just ground scored the end of one out of the peeling/slop bucket & thinks it is the greatest thing ever (likely b/c I've been hovering over them all day)

Canned today:
1.5 Gal "Super Sweet"
1.5 Gal "Mustard Pickles"

In brine (salt or vinegar) ie peeled & sliced or diced today for canning tomorrow
1 Gal Reg Relish (cuc , carrot, onion)
3/4 Gal HOT Relish (as above plus Ancho peppers for the DH)
2 Gal corse cut Cuc /carrot/onion for a Ginger Picadilli however that is spelled

Still untouched 2 Bushels
Also half a bushel of the smallest found so far are set aside for souring in salt brine as Deli style garlic dills
But they will have to be peeled, these cucs are waxed (yuck) & this "new" wax method simply does not remove
DH even spent time online to find a way to get it off, tried several & ruled it impossible, so I'm going to try them peeled,
guess it will be "naked deli dills" --anyone ever try to brine *peeled* cucs ??

I was hoping to get a batch of bread n butters done yet tonight (not started yet)
but this coffee break is just letting me know there are no places that don't hurt :(

Blocks for the other swap (nov 15) will still get finished tomorrow even if that means the chickens have to eat some cucs for me...

& I have a plan to hit the Handcock fabric sale on my bday monday to find my dark brown for this swap.

now back to more pickles (I will NOT be using green in this quilt !!)

I keep going back to look at that new block idea, I really like it, but it is paper foundation piecing. If I do it instead of my last idea they may all be diff. colors but the same block. And it has an awesome idea for using fancy stipes or border stripes fabric, I need to see if I have any of that in my stash, there aren't to many cool ideas out there for that kind of fabric. It would be a lot less pieces then my last idea too.

I'm curious, how many choices are you looking at?

Who ever would like to do the mug rug swap post mug rug or something to that effect so we can count you.

A mug rug is a mini quilt that is larger than a coaster and smaller than a place mat, it has room for your mug and a spoon or a snack.
Hope this helps those of us like me on the size.
