It is stunning isn't it??? Can't wait to get mine together and to see what/how everyone else puts thiers together.

@fenrosie that is just beautiful without banding or edging just the small blue binding, the quilting in diagonals is just what it needed it is a statement all by it self, kudos to all of you who participated in that swap.
@katsdar love you finished quilt and coasters. I think SInD is probably the fastest for this type.

Epic Fail. My blue and gray batik fabrics just look muddy together. Not enough contrast. I'm thinking about popping in orange sunset color to give it a little life. Live and learn!
On the upside, drum roll, Iv'e completed my mug rug and it shoudl be on it's way to New Zealand soon.

Cool, I have worked some on my mug rug, I have one pieced and it is spring loving, just trying to decide if I like it enough to finish or start again. Since it is a small project and not going into a quilt I took creative liscense and used some cool fabrics (as in not all cotton)

Grey and blue makes me think of birch trees in winter against a clear sky. How about your orange/copper, Chocolate, a touch of metallics...burgandy. . Thinking mr pheasant...deep and rich just a hint of something darker for contrast.
:)
