New Year Block swap

You can use lightweight interfacing and leave it in. The only drawback with this is it won't go through printer but I find tracing the lines on , with a ruler, is quicker than taking the paper out!

Interesting, I wonder if you cut the interfacing and a piece of freezer paper to the right size iron the interfacing to the waxy side of the freezer paper if it will go through the printer, or even just the leading edge of the interfacing w/ the wax paper?

Does the interfacing stabilize the biases enough not to stretch when sewing?

I've never had a problem but have never done anything with 3 million pieces like your angel!
Your mug rug was done this way so you can feel what it ends up like.

True it would be simple just to draw out for a simple pattern and one your not doing 20 repeats. I was thinking of the more complex patterning I seem to be doing right now and how I would hate to draw them out. The "hand" of the finished product w/ the interfacing is good, not to heavy at all. I am going to try the interfacing idea next time I go to the fabric store and get some. I was also going to try some printing ideas to see if it can safely go through the printer w/o to much trouble.

We just had a mug rug spoiler, we know it is paper pieced, Hurry up and swim faster

@fenrosie , I have 1/2 the TARDIS block done w/ your fabric. I have been using the right side for the lighter wood and the back side for the darker wood, it is working out great. Thank you for your generous gift, I will post pics when it is finished.

See what fenrosie's generous gift made possible ............................

The fabric could not have been more perfect, the front side for the lighter wood and the backside for the darker wood inset panels.

I will do some embroidery for the words to make it complete.
