New Years Eve hatch along! Can anyone join me??

Here's a couple pics from my December 4th-5th hatch, they are tiny lil things. I tried to find some pictures with items "to scale" so you can see how tiny they really are. Dont blink though because they are big in no time

Update, 13 of these 24 eggs made it to lockdown today. Candled & found that 11 showed no signs of development (clear).

I have been having quite a few duds but I think its because since I have been hurt I have been relying on others to get my eggs and they are not "on it" like I am, when I am gathering hatching eggs below freezing I gather 8-10 times a day so they dont freeze, the people helping me get them maybe once a day

Went into lockdown for my quail eggs today, but I have chicken eggs in there, too, so it's going to be a little tricky turning the chicken eggs for the next three days

I have completely failed in all of my quail egg candling attempts, but all 6 of the chicken eggs are looking great so far, which is awesome because the first time I incubated eggs there was an under 50% hatch rate. I figure if the conditions are good enough for all of the chicks to grow, the quail must be doing alright, too. Although the chicken eggs are from my own birds and my eggs have had 100% fertility so far and the quail eggs were shipped and I don't know if all of them are fertile.

Yeah I usually have 80%-100% hatch rate on my quail eggs and 90-100% on my chicken eggs but since it started freezing I am having less quail eggs hatch which is fine because that is less to brood lol. In the spring when it warms up I hope to get alot more hatched.

I,m definetly not a pro when it comes to candleing quail eggs (1st attempt), but after 14 days in the bator & they are still clear I,m sure those are not fertile. As for the others all I could see is that they were dark with an air sack at the top & thats the ones that I put in loockdown. Pretty hard to see much other than dark or clear, useing an LED candler !! Did a random check on a few of my other 153 eggs that will go into lockdown on 12/31 & the ones I checked showed development !! Just hopeing to get as many as possible to hatch so I can start my new adventure into the quail world !

i don't think my light is bright enough to candle again this being lock-down day, so i'm gonna stick with what i got.

26 eggs going into lock-down, all showed signs of development @day 9 tossed all the clear ones
