Good job!I don't know how I managed to do it, but I managed to keep my biggest chicken resolution this year ... so I'm gonna repeat it for 2026: NO NET GAIN!
I resolve to end the year with the same number of (or fewer) chickens than I started out with. We'll see how that pans out this time ...![]()

Sooo, I guess we could say no chicken math works on you! 12 chickens is 12 chickens, not 6.I don't know how I managed to do it, but I managed to keep my biggest chicken resolution this year ... so I'm gonna repeat it for 2026: NO NET GAIN!

Oh chicken math got me hard ... I just got really lucky and found someone to take my surprise hatches and a really nice rooster. I doubt I'll be as lucky this year. I'm gonna have to work at it, this time!Sooo, I guess we could say no chicken math works on you! 12 chickens is 12 chickens, not 6.
Awesome you did it though, wow!
That's really impressive, I am curious though, what is your chicken count?Oh chicken math got me hard ... I just got really lucky and found someone to take my surprise hatches and a really nice rooster. I doubt I'll be as lucky this year. I'm gonna have to work at it, this time!
Tink! Post your new post here. That's a New Year's Resolution, of sorts! That's really impressive, I am curious though, what is your chicken count?
I had a goal of about 70 chickens to go into this winter and I'm just over 80, so I don't feel I'm doing too awful
I don't know if I could commit to no net gain, but it would actually be a good resolution for me!
I try to stay under 20, but even that's too many. With a limited market for really tiny eggs (mostly Nankin bantams) I have to get creative with too many extras. My current count is 16. With a few senior (retired or semi-retired) hens and my two roosters, that seems to be working, for now. That's really impressive, I am curious though, what is your chicken count?
