New Year's Resolutions for 2026

3. Finish and publish another book. Doesn't matter which one, so just DO IT APRIL! :rant
I recall us having a talk about this! You better get this one done! :celebrate

My new years resolution might sound petty to some but it matters for my mental health. I resolve to not respond in my family's mass texts, unless I am called out directly. I have three family members who are very selfish and if the text doesn't concern them, food, or something they think they are an expert at, they will not respond. Not even a congratulations on a job promotion or a good job on my nephew getting his driver's license. And yes, I've talked to them about it and it does no good

Awe, I'm sorry. That's a way to get a point across if you've been active, and now you aren't. I hope that goes well for you, as it's got to be tough. :hugs

You know, I'm starting to think there are a lot of people like this. Of course it feels like crap when it's family, even though I'm sure it's not personal. I took a similar route and just don't bother sharing anymore. So you're not alone. :hugs

BUT, my mental health has improved tenfold!

That is such good news and affirmation that it could work for @tripletfeb

We have a few of those family text groups. We keep politics completely out of them. If we didn't, we'd wind up in the same boat I'm sure!

It's not about politics. It's just random everyday things. For example, I got a promotion at work and these people never congratulated me. But then someone texts about food and they are all over those texts, they can't respond fast enough

It's odd that someone wouldn't express a bit of happiness or congratulations towards someone who posted they were promoted, but perhaps a taste of their own medicine will make them think a little bit. I hope so! :hugs
