New York mini chickenstock 2016

I hope your little guys make it out of their shells.

I have forgotten to take off the cooling cycle on my incubator during lockdown even until day 20. Usually, they hatch late day 21 or 22. I had some real oddball hatchers though when I hatched some shipped eggs from Wa and they were the Barbezieux...they hatched on day 25 and 26. Had to check the calendar again...The majority of them died over the next week but I happily have two roosters growing out to join the two hens from GFF I got last year!

Sometimes it's just odd hatching...

I think the hairdo is called crest, but I sometimes call them crowns- Especially on my CCL, Elsa.
I have 5 crested creations myself. I'll get pictures today.
Good luck with your hatch. If it's day 24 and no pips the humidity may have been too high for the incubating period. What happens in that case is the air cells don't grow large enough and the chicks can't position themselves. Sometimes they drown. Low temps can delay hatches, like others have said. I know I've had trouble with thermometers and hygrometers being inaccurate. What day did you set them?
y were set the 19th of April. Hatchabatch app tracked it for me. Now I'm getting worried. They are moving around the incubator and good size air cell just no outer movement.

I've had the best luck hatching with lower humidity. I shoot for about 35% then no more than 65% in lockdown. Preferably about 55-60% has done well with no stuck chicks.

I'm still hatching my chicks out. Only two hatched out on day 21 and most last night on day 23. Still have some working on it today.

So far all CCL mixes from Susie. Will post final count and what kinds later to see if anyone wants any at chickenstock. :)

Yay on the chickies! Just so theres no confusion though I believe only 6 of the 2 doz were from the Legbar roo, the rest are EE dad. I just dont want any misrepresentation of chicks:) Looking forward to pics:)

Oh yep! Just had mostly those legbar mixes hatch first! Still more chicks hatching. Looks like I have a Marans/EE, the legbar mixes all hatched, EE/australorp I think so far

I listed my Pavlovskaya on craigslist. If they don't sell I'll bring them to Chicken stock. I sold my EE chicks today. I'm keeping my Brabanters for now and some crested marans mixes and legbar mixes. I'll bring hatching eggs to contribute to raffle and or any other donation.

The sneezing has ceased. It goes away as quickly as it comes and I clean the coop in the middle so my educated guess is ammonia irritant from the concrete floor holding in the smell. I didn't get to the store for pdz so used barn lime and de under fresh shavings.

That's the 6 remaining from the original hatch from my eggs . All but 1 are spitzhauben babies. The 1 is a white leghorn and lavender orpington mix. There is 1 black astrolorp and gold spitzhauben babies as well as 1 RIR and gold spitzhauben mix. The other 3 are white leghorn and spitzhauben mix, just not sure if it's gold or silver. They have started to get the cool hair doo, what is it called?
@PhoredaBurds all but one of those are your "grandchikies" . They also have a pet cat named Luna that lives with them.
