Welcome to backyard chickens!
the only problem I would see is if one of them wend broody. Even then, they usually manage to lay eggs in the same nest box

G’Day from down under SA&P :frow Welcome!

Aaaw, they are adorable! :love

So, in your username, I am guessing the 'A' is Amy and 'P' Penny; 'S' is for ??

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share more Pictures and Stories of your girls, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Welcome to BYC. Provide a dozen nest boxes and they would most likely still use the same one. Prepare for the broody mamas.

Oh, my isn't this the truth! Both parts, in fact. When we first got back into chickens about, oh, 8 years ago, I built 6 nest boxes for our first 8 girls. They all squabbled over 2 of them, the top left one and the middle bottom one. :lau Only if they HAD to use one of the others would they. You live and you learn.

As for broodiness, you WILL have that happen. My Banty Cochins are bad about it, but Silkies are at least half again as bad! They will both sometimes decide to try to hatch thin air, even if you take their eggs away 5 minutes after they lay them. :lau:gig

Anyway, welcome! You will not find a better bunch of people here to answer any questions you may have. ❤:thumbsup

:welcome

Thank you for the welcome.
Well, I tried to use Big Bang as my username but that was taken, as (predictably ) my cockerel is called Sheldon. He was the last egg to hatch out of the batch and although the smallest, when it came to choosing which rooster to keep, it HAD to be him as my OH and his friend picked him out of the egg with tweezers!
I did think that the garden would be quiet because he didn’t crow........HAH! When the other cockerels were taken away he started spluttering next morning! And now? He’s da BOSS
Got my rescue dog trained in half an hour not to chase ‘em. Great dog So they have no stress and hopefully I’ll see my first egg very soon.
