Newbie...chick w/ round "thing" on back...HELP! !? (Pics included)

Is the lump soft (squeezable) or hard (doesn't squish)?

It looks like an abcess, which means it needs to be drained. Try soaking the top with a very wet warm washcloth (5-10 minutes) then see if you can gently squeeze anything out of it, or open up the scab and see if you have anything come out. If so, you want to empty it. Then wash well and put some neosporin on it.
