Hi! Welcome to BYC! Well, I'm the one who always starts these welcome messages with build the biggest and most secure coop and run you can. Just start there. Why? Because in March we will be building our 4th and hopefully final coop! We've had chickens for almost 4 almost 4 years (4 yrs in Feb), and every year we think we are solving the coop issue. I only have 12 chickens and we are now going to build an 8x10 walk in coop. It's the way to make life happy with chickens and make cleaning and managing easy. I recommend reading some threads in the Coop and Run Forum. Good luck with your new adventure in chickens!!! You will love it!!!
