Hi, I'm new to I BYC, not to chickens. Was born and raised with them. That being said, I'm always wanting to find out new info to better my flock. I only have one Rhode island red right now. Have been busy with the spring ranch chores, and getting the food ready, i.e. gardening. They have died off over time from old age, and one coon. Now I'm getting some Golden Sexlink pullets. I like a variety, like buffs, sexlinks, reds, etc. Usually only have 6-8 hens at a time. There's only two of us so I share them at work.

Hi! Welcome! I'm new here too. Before I have chickens I've read they can live until 15-20 years old but now between posts, comments and others experiences I don't find out like that's the usual thing, I wonder how old were the ones who died from old age if you can share.
