Newbie to chicks

I know I didn't ask the question in the first place, but how will the chick know how to lay the egg?

One of my buff silkies squats A LOT, but she was only born on July 9 ,2014.

Instinct I guess.

They just seem to know. They do seem to need a little training on WHERE to lay the eggs though. I had to put golf balls in the nesting boxes to get mine to lay in them.
