She has previously been laying on the floor of the coop and nothing has happened to them, not gone or eaten. The first time i put the egg in the nest box to encourage laying in there, it goes missing!! No birds can get in as run is covered. If a rat etc was getting in then why wasnt it eating the eggs before?? Its a mysteryx

I'd suggest putting fake eggs or golf balls in the nest box. Also look for a hidden nest. The girls are really good about steeling eggs for their hidden nest.
