Hi! I have 4 chickens...less than a week so new to everything. They are all ok. Only my Cheshire blue is laying (not a problem). She lays every other day on the floor of their coop. So to encourage use of their nesting box I put said egg inside.
I came back 4 hours later and the egg has gone! No sign of it.
The large run is covered. Any help would be gratefully received. TIA

Hi, it's nice to have you here! Do you think one of your girls may be an egg eater?

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Have you searched the area for any sticky bedding where a cracked egg may have been? It's either in there or they ate it. I don't think David Copperfield has visited you! ;)
Can you post some pictures of your coop and nest box area in a new thread here:

Once we see your setup, we might be able to offer some advice!

No sticky residue. Checked everywhere with a torch..nothing. Cant upload any pics as im pants at things like that. Its a big plastic covered box with a big hole to get in, a ladder going up. Its approx 12" high with a ladder. It has proper chicken bedding. Thick and cosy.
