I started with 24 shipped eggs.
After awhile I removed 8 clears.
12 little beauties have hatched.
4 eggs are left in the incubator but its Day 25. They are too dark to see into (welsummer and maran eggs) but let's assume they were fertile at least.
so 12/16 is 75% right?
18 eggs originally placed in the bator
3 clear eggs removed
15 viable eggs in bator
12 chicks hatched - 1 died after about 30 hours, but still hatched and got fluffy!
The last 3 eggs are still in the bator on day 23. I'll take them out tomorrow morning if nothing happens.
My first hatch was 12 eggs, then I added more eggs a week later. Of the first batch, I had movement in 10 (I think) when I moved them to the hatcher (which I had to build cause of my staggered hatch) but only 3 hatched.
The 2nd batch had 10 develop, 9 went to the hatcher, 2 hatched.
Not to be discouraged, I set 2 dozen EE's and 7(?) in the bator on Sunday. This time I will NOT add more eggs so these babies can stay in the bator. Even tho I built the hatcher the same as the bator, I think there's something about it that my eggs don't like so I'm gonna let 'em go all the way in the bator this time.
Day 20 and Nothing to show yet not even a pip
if my brother has killed them because he was ment to watch the temp(wch went to 38C dont know for how long) he will be in big trouble grrr
I have 12 of my original 20 in the hatcher & tomorrow is day 21; earlier this evening, there were no pips, so I put one of the 1/2 carton (6 eggs) up to my ear and there's cheeping go on in them there eggs!
