Newby needs advice re: sick hens and new chicks

Yes, they are already here, and I was afraid of that. I am keeping them in a separate area from all the other hens and have tried to be careful to have clean clothes, shoes, etc. on; not the ones I was wearing while around my hens. Also washing hands until they are so dry they hurt! lol. I will look into the denaguard. Thank you for the suggestion!
you are welcome

Hello, I'm sorry about your poor girls. I've been through this as well. It sounds to me like your chickens have "MG" also known as , the "bubbly eye respiratory disease." I'm attaching a few files to better explain this dreaded disease. Be very cautious about adding new chicks. I have 2 Silkies who came down with this when they were about 2 months old, started off with swollen, watery, bubbly eyes, and deep breathing in one, then a week later my other one caught it. I didn't think they would survive, due to having weak immune symptoms because they were so young. But, they beat the odds and are doing great. However, because they can carry this disease with them for life, I still have them separate from the rest of the flock. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck!
