This sounds like a good idea. I could even use the bin to transport the bird to the side yard I use for processing, after I toss the discarded bits put everything in the bin that needs to be sterilized before storage and give it a good soak, then use it for storage.

Lining the box (with something compostable if you compost the feathers etc) makes it much easier to clean out all the discarded parts after processing.
