I'm not new to Backyard Chickens but I'm new as a member and am happy to be here. I have several chickens and several species. I love them all and although I grew up with chickens all around me, I didn't really know much about them. I'm always eager to learn and have been doing so over the last several years that I've had chickens. I want to know more and especially about how to keep them healthy and happy. I live in the Northwest where we get lots of rain and it's not always fun to be outdoors with the chickens but they do have nice, roomy enclosures that are covered so it's not so bad when it's cleaning time. I am married and have 2 adult children. I also have several other animals such as a couple of Nigerian Dwarf goats, dogs, and parrots. It's good to be here I look forward to learning more and more.
 
Welcome to BYC, glad you joined. It's a good place to learn. The homestead farm east of Dallas that took in our white cochin cockerel (no males allowed here, sigh) had goats too - she told me the chickens liked to ride the goats or just perch on them, and later that night sent me a picture of our little Terri already riding a goat. Do your chickens like to perch on your goats?

Hey there! I know what you mean about Pacific Northwest rain. Covered areas are so essential, and I have a gutter system that leads the roof runoff out to my garden beds to prevent any flooding near my coop too. Lots of helpful information here on the site... have fun browsing the forums and asking questions!
