Today I observed one baby is finally outside the shell. But I have no idea to feed him because the issue is that all the eggs by his mother are saved under bunch of dry sticks(for shelter). I tried hard to reach. Once his mother moved from this place and went outside for water/feed. But the chick was stucked behind. That time I tried my best at got the chick in my hand. As i was just thinking his mother came there and I left her baby. Baby moved with his mother again to that place. So my question is that will mother feed him something by herself??? Or should I try again to feed him by myself?? Because still more eggs are to be hatched. I don't want to disturb the mother. But can't sleep without feeding the baby. And also suggest the feed please???
Thanks

The young absorb the yolk right before they hatch. They require no food or water for up to 3 days. Most hens move off the nest and abandon any remaining eggs after 2 days, though they may return to it to spend the night for a while.

Is it also applicable for ducks?? As you are talking about yolk? Because I was asking about duck and ducking

Yes, it applies...Sorry, you said hen and then chick so just assumed you were talking about chickens.;)
Yes I didn't mentioned about ducks earlier as I'm also running with hens at home. About 8 eggs are still there. Outside temperature during the day time is high about 34 degree Celsius. But I can't displace them as I'm waiting for other ducklings

A female duck is also called a hen, and duck eggs also contain yolks, so it works for both chickens and ducks. That's the purpose of a yolk in an egg, to feed the duckling or chick so they don't require food and water for a couple of days.

You should put some feed and water out as close to the nest as you can, the mother duck will show them how to eat and drink.

Make sure not to put anything too deep in water with them because ducklings may climb in and chill and can even drown.
