Newly hatched chick with bum leg

Say i have to put it down... i never have... most humane way? Husband is out of town for work or he would do it. Putting on my big girl panties to cry and suck it up if i have to do it. Ugh part of it sadly i guess. I can't stand seeing him suffer.

I use a sharp pair of kitchen scissors. It's quick, and you can't mess it up.

Sorry that this is happening.

EDT: I'll add that some people use carbon dioxide or ether. It's sort of controversial whether they're painless or not; studies show that ether is an irritant, takes longer, and is the worse of the two.

Ugh. I figured i would have to at some point. Part of it... or i keep telling myself haha. Just sad. So if no one has a solution, i won't let it suffer anymore. Ill wait until tomorrow afternoon though in hopes of a solution. Thank you for your input. I really appreciate it. Have a nice night. Its bedtime.

Same. Laying on its back. Not moving.
I'm sorry.
Can she move the legs at all?
You put her in a cup correct? If the legs are frozen and you can't straighten them at all, then I'm not sure what else you can do.

@Eggcessive or @Pyxis may have some suggestions. Sometimes a chick is hatched with a deformity and there is nothing more that can be done.

It cannot move left leg at all. It won't straighten. I tried everything i could so far. The shank is turned wrong. Toes wont even move.

It sounds like a leg bone deformity if it's turned wrong. Is the back of the joint flat like the tendon may be slipped out of place?

So sorry about your chick. If I have a chick with problems, I usually give it drops of Poultry Cell or NutriDrench, and try the cup or a chick chair to see if it gets better. After a couple of days I will put them down if there is no hope. Leg bone deformities can be common, and seldom can be fixed. Here is a link about treating a slipped tendon in case that is the problem:
