I had my first hatches last night but one is much too light, there are four possibilities for these two and I’m pretty sure the darker one is a cinnamon queen cuckoo maran mix, the lighter one is so light and it looked like it came from one of my eggs but it could’ve been from one of my neighbors. Any idea?
the possibilities for these two with my flock is either Cinnamon queen, Black sex link or cuckoo maran, the rooster is also a cuckoo maran, I noticed my neighbors looks like a white leghorn rooster or something like that but I’m not sure.

These two are both CQ crosses from my flock. 😊View attachment 3056534View attachment 3056533
Wow their gorgeous, actually CQs are a mix between red and white Rhode Island Red so I guess it’s whatever they have more of! Mine are much more brown.
These are the roosters and the potential mommas, the first one is my black sex link and the brown ones are my cinnamon queens, the other cuckoo maran in the photo died last month but I do have one more but I know it’s definitely not hers, would’ve been black if it was

Yes, CQs do carry dominant white. Dominant white blocks black coloring, but not red. If you crossed a Cuckoo Marans to a red hen, normally you would get a black barred chick, but because CQs carry the dominant white gene, the chick would then be mostly white, with the possibility later on of red leakage.

The bird right next to the goat carries dominant white. The two in picture 4 too.

So that one might be either my black sex links or a cinnamon queens chick? I think my rooster might have more of one breed in him, he has a few brown spots, I didn’t get him from a professional breeder place but from an friend so as far as I know he’s a cuckoo maran

No, BSLs don’t carry dominant white. It’s your RSLs that do.

I’m not positive on cinnamons breed but on here I was told BSL is most likely for her.
I guess It’ll be easier to tell once they get a bit older but I’m not keeping too many of them so I’m just tryjng to figure out if thats one of the breeds I already have or not
