Hello all.
I was so thankful for the helpful responses 2 weeks ago when I had my very sick girl. Unfortunately, she did not recover. BUT here is some very good news. A week later a second baby came down with the same symptoms and after 4 days, she is back on her feet! I did not have a necropsy done on the first girl. I wish I would have. I am looking for any advice on moving ahead. I have 5 adult healthy girls in the coop, they are separated from these 14 week old babies that have been sick. This nightmare started with what I am pretty sure was coccsidiosis. Under faulty advice, they were under treated at first, so when I realized that, I felt terrible and over compensated. Now I wonder if I gave them a vitamin B deficiency with all the corrid and medicated food they were getting. Of course when you research a chicken that cant stand, the dreaded Marek's disease info is everywhere, so I am afraid for my entire flock if I put this recovering girl back with her "sisters". Does anyone know of how birds recover from Marek's? I may be jumping to conclusions, as it does seem like there are many things that could cause a bird to not be able to walk for a few days. Or how the Marek's spreads? I had one bird dragging herself around and she declined for 4 days, I wasnt aware of the vit. B thing, so she wasnt treated. Then 2 weeks later the second bird was unable to walk. I treated her with "B", and just kept feeding and watering her and on the 3rd day she could stand with help, now day 4 she is standing on her own. She has also gained a bit of weight back. I guess I need some reassurance, or suggestions for protecting my one year olds, who are healthy and loved. Thanks so much!

Coccidiosis is very common.
One should never feed medicated feed and treat with Corid at the same time.
Medicated feed should really never even be used ..imo.
Have you finished treating everyone with Corid?
If so offer poultry vitamins daily for a week.

With Marek's they either die or die, pretty much.
