Nigerian dwarf skin flaking issue

Farm vet came out today and said lice! Ugh. Not at all what i expected. I was thinking mineral issues the whole time. He gave a shot and is coming back in 4 weeks to do a follow up check. I wasn’t here, my hubby took care of it.

Any suggestions for how to control lice. Now that we have treated it on the animal don’t i need to do something to treat the barn?

Lice are not really that big a deal. Meaning, that although they can seriously impact the health of the animal, they aren't that hard to keep under control. For many of the years when I had my dairy, the injectable and pour-ons for louse control were not available. We just periodically put a generous dusting of louse powder down the backbone of all the goats and rubbed it into the hair.
