I’ve applied to over a dozen, and only about a third have even gotten back to me. Most of them don’t even tell you you’re not hired, you just have to guess because they don’t contact you.

When I re-applied to get my job back at Walmart they had not called me either. I had to call them, only to be told that they are not interested. You would think that businesses would have rejection letters written out already, and just send them along to applicants that they are not interested in. Better than wasting the time of those looking.

This seems strange to me since there is supposedly still kind of a worker shortage. Must not be in your area.

Do you have any places up that way that will reimburse your tuition. We have some down here that do that. Chick-Fil-A does, Amazon does. Do you have either of those in your area?

I don't know exactly how it works as far as the tuition goes. If you have to work for them the remainder of your days or what. I know tons of the UA students work those places, though.

I have been rejected by about 10 places so far in my search for a new job. It really kills the self-esteem. Just look at it as their loss, because they did not hire someone worth hiring, and instead are hiring morons who cannot count, and those who are eventually just going to steal or walk away later anyway.

For all the crying about no workers last year this year seems different.
I start a new job next week but the two major hospital chains in town are poop. They were just in the paper a month ago crying about the nursing shortage. One won't accept applications and the other sets up interviews and cancel a day later. I guess what they mean is "There's a shortage of Cheap Nurses."

I don’t have either of those, but there are quite a few places that reimburse tuition here. I’m reluctant to accept that though, because then I’ll have to work to pay them back, and I don’t think I’ll want to hold down a job while I’m in nursing school. I know some hospitals will pay tuition, but then you have to work for them for a set amount of time to pay it off.

And there is a worker shortage here, but there are also so many people looking for jobs that employers can afford to be picky and choose the more experienced people.
