No Animal Should EVER Have To Live This Way

That poor baby! YOu can just see by the look on his face that he's a big baby!

SO many families are losing their houses and just turning their animals loose. It infuriates me. Near here a family left a dog and two cats LOCKED in the house with no food or water! I swear I'd rather see an animal put down than be turned out in the snow or locked up to starve to death.

A neighbor heard the dog and called animal control but the one cat died from dehydration. The family said they planned on coming back for them when they got housing that would allow them ?? Like when - next month?

Thank you for taking him in.

Wow he is so very thin. Could he possibly have gotten loose from someone? (albeit it would have a while ago) Animals can lose a ton of body fat/weight just trying to stay warm in this weather.

Good for you!

She might be lost, might want to check to see if there's a lost dog. And she will be thin if she's out running around in the cold and looking for her owner.

Dogs, especially those breads WILL get thinner in the winter. We have a Great Dane and had other fast, runner and hunting dogs--they get thinner in the winter. Our GD, Scarlet looks starved, but it's just what they do when it's colder. But our vet says she's normal and not to overdo her food. It can damage her. And be careful not to overfeed this new dog, you can shock its system and dogs' stomach can get turned/twisted from too much food, causing bloat and can die from it.

I'm sure your new pet will fatten out a bit, but don't be surprised if see some ribs in the faster dogs--fattening them up too much can also damage their hearts and that would not be healthy.

Good luck!

He may be a run-away. He looks pure bred. Usually dumped dogs are dogs that were not paid for. Dobermans are a type of dog that needs lots of nutrition while they grow so fast. He looks like a puppy. They can drop the weight in no time flat if he's been without a decent meal in a while. Those type of dogs look too skinny even when they're healthy. Make sure you contact all the appropriate places and notify them of your stray

his tail is docked and he's neutured sound like he's been a pound puppy. people don't normally dock a full blood then neutued him! but if he's been throught the system they would have cut him, i bet he has a chip.

I thank you and I'm sure Samson thanks you. Most Dobermans have wonderful dispositions are and easy to train. A worthwhile addition to any family.

I'd bet since he's tail docked and neutered that he's a run away or got lost. I'd put up flyers and an ad in local paper and check to see if someone has run an ad recently. Those who would go through the trouble and expense to neuter their pet don't normally dump them later. I know it does happen but I think it's the exception and not the norm.

You are truly an angel. What would have become of that poor dog...he would have starved and frozen to death. You have a big heart.I really admire folks like you....
