No Animal Should EVER Have To Live This Way

Yes we have other dogs in the house but thankfully they all are UTD on shots and heartworm meds. The fleas, nahhh no big deal lol.

Ricki,

Bless you for taking in and taking care of him. Hopefully the vet check turned out okay on him. The vet should be able to give you a rough estimate as to how old he is. He was probably neutered because he didn't come up to breed standards as his nose is a little blunt for a Dobie. However nowadays alot of people are not cropping the ears and leaving them natural. They still dock the tails of the dogs though when they are puppies.

The part of town I live in people are always dumping dogs off at one of the local parks, and of course they take off the collar so the dog can't be identified.

So glad you got him and he did not have to wander the streets.....you are an angel!!! I loathe and abour anyone that misteats animals...they dont derserve it...so a huge thank you from me.

what...every breeder that has dobes will dock the tails at around 3 days old..many are neutering them before they leave as puppies..its great this dog was found but it may just be lost,at least try to find the owners .. hes looks young and been out in the cold for a week or so and running it wouldnt take long for him to get skinny..doesnt mean someone dropped him off.

I agree with Lori. Just because he's a neutered pure bred doesn't mean he came from the pound. Hopefully, people are realizing that, unless you are a breeder, the responsible things is to neuter and spay your pet. We've always had excellent bloodline rotties growing up and they were always neutered. This keeps them home more too

I'm so glad he found you, whatever circumstances he came from. I will caution you that dobermans are often same sex dog aggressive. He'd have to be *very* same sex dog aggressive to waste any energy doing anything about it now, but be aware of it for future reference.
