No brooder bedding?

I really like using puppy pads.
me too. First time user, I had been using shavings. The pee pads are cheaper. $16 for a hundred at Costco and that got me through three weeks. With just three ducklings, once a day until about three weeks, just roll them up and put them in the trash. They are four weeks tomorrow so heading to the coop.

Ugh!! Friggin Texas weather. It is 90*F today, but by 7:00 am tomorrow it will have dipped down to 67*F, before it starts to climb again to hot. That is quite unusual. And I just put the babies out there. They are almost 3 weeks old. Do you think they will be ok?

@Miss Lydia, I use pee pads first couple weeks cleanup 3x a day then I add the large flake shavings from TSC of course your house isn’t going to smell like a rose but it doesn’t stink. We stopped for bedding at TSC this week they didn’t have any so I opted for the bedding that is pellets it says for horses and small animals it’s working pretty good and my first time for using it.
Miss Lydia what is your opinion of TSC's bedding pellets now that almost three weeks has passed? My ducklings are about ready to leave the brooder in the garage and enter their duck house in the side yard, they are 8 weeks old today.

I like the pellet bedding actually. Not sure if Id want to use it inside my coop although what was left I did add to the shavings in their coop when I moved them outside last week. Maybe a mixture. But clean up is awesome in a brooder using the pellets. 8 weeks old boy they grow up fast don't they? my youngest just hit 6 weeks.

Now I am trying to figure out when to change their feed from crumbles to pellets. Right now they are all on crumbles still.

Birth dates of ducklings in the outdoor brooder:
July 4th=1
July 5th=2
July 7th=2
July 8th=1

Inside brooder:
July 10=1
July 15=1

Should I wait to start the birds in the outside brooder on the 29th to make sure the last bird is 3 weeks old? Or can I start them on that now. The All flock pellets I will be switching to is 18% protein. Right now the crumbles are 24% protein.
