You had a great hatch. Are you keeping all? My first hatch has turned out to be out of 4 eggs 4 drakes. They are going to live in VA. This coming Friday. Fawn and white is female. I also have 2 that will be 3 weeks old tomorrow sure hope those 2 are girls. View attachment 1839872

Wow they are so pretty! I don't know if I'm going to keep all of them or not. I think my neighbors would kill me. I'm going to wait until I can tell their genders however. Hopefully I will get one drake from the hatching, to replace Count Blackula of course and to keep the ladies a bit more quiet. The girls seemed to be way more calm and quiet when a boy was around. I don't know if that was just dumb luck or if there is something really behind that, but... we'll see.

If I do decide to part with some of them, I'm going to asking locals on here if they would like some runners, or maybe look for locals on BackyardDucks page on FB. I definitely want them going to someone who has already has experience with ducks.

I moved 6 of my babies into their outside brooder(inside the duck coop). The other two moved from the bathtub into the baby pool.

They were quite unnerved at first, now they are mostly indifferent about it. Of course I did extend their coop the other day, so I am sure they are too busy enjoying the new space.

Here is the expansion. The white boxes to the right are the future boxes for my blueberry bushes. They require acidic soil, so I will be filling those boxes with that kind of dirt. The garden has gotten a bit away from me during this whole duck incubation period. So i'll have to get back out there and whip it into submission. Sorry about the ladder. I was just doing a few last minute things.

I did. I just put rubbing alcohol in a spritz bottle and sprayed them down. All gone now.
