No brooder bedding?

It’s so. Hilarious when the adults are afraid of ducklings. Are your females sun bleached?

I don't know. Their fathers just started to have that mottled look a couple months ago. I don't know if that is just the colors of their new feathers, or what. But they act normal. Two of my ladies haven't laid and egg in almost two weeks, but they don't seem seem sluggish or off in any way. All I know is that they love the new expansion. They move in and out of the new extended run area and back to the regular coop all day.
 
Dark colored birds can get their feathers bleached by the sun and usually by end of summer molt them out for new ones. Your Runners were black at first right? I didn’t mean to sound like I was thinking something is wrong with them just wondering about the change of color. I bet they love having more space to move around in.

The drake was black, the girls were chocolate. But yeah, their feathers are lighter right now. All the ducklings ended up being black though.
