Do you want to be in charge of the chicken swapping area?

Yeah!!! We already have potluck items! Once we get a head count we will have a better idea of what we need but here is a list of who has volunteered to bring food so far...

Steve and Sunny... - BBQ ribs and pulled pork.

Steffanie................ - Salad and Monkey Bread.

Kristin.................... - Veggie Burgers.

johnrillamas.......... - Asian noodle salad

OK since the site has a large BBQ already we just need a couple of volunteers to help out in this area. If we get a lot of folks we may need to borrow 1 more grill. Won't know 'til we get a head count. Kelsey Girl is the BBQ gas powered, charcoal or wood fired?

Sure, I'd love to! I was thinking before we put chickens in the swap area, I could look the birds over quickly just to make sure they're healthy. I doubt anyone will bring any sick birds, but just to be careful. I'll start thinking of other things to keep the swap area organized and running smoothly as well.

The BBQ is Gas and in a built in bar by the pool, and my husband doesn't mind manning it. I have made up a map to show you how things are set up at the ranch, I forgot to add parking, which will probably be in the pasture right next to the Arena. Also they have a golf cart with a trailer to transport food or whatever from their BBQ to the Arena. The black line is the road/path. from the arena to the BBQ/Pool/Bathroom area.

Thanks for the info, that helps a lot. DH and I have already agreed to man the BBQs and could use another person or 2 to spell us that morning but trust me the hosts (you and your DH) will have your hands full helping to set everything up, answering a ton of questions and directing folks. I suspect you two will be pretty busy for the first hour or two.

Are there large serving pans we can use or should we bring some? Since it is gas are your in-laws ok with BBQ runoff or should we bring heavy duty foil to protect the equipment? We have a lot of equipment ourselves but it would be a little easier if we don't have to bring everything. Still, it is not a big deal to bring everything with us, if needed.

My In laws have serving pans and those silver pans over an open flame, that keeps food warm, like the ones you see at wedding buffets. As for the BBQ, protecting the equipment, it's a ranch, and treated like one lol.

Also she told me the guest house bathroom will probably be available too!

OK, so I have a second place to set up if you all would rather be closer to the BBQ area and Bathrooms.

My In laws just said if we like we can set up around the main house, in the picture below that I made up to give you all an Idea, you can see the gray rectangle around the house, and guesthouse/garage (The house in the black circle) that is completely covered, the area with the chicken could be set up for the swap area, the area between the house and guesthouse is a drive through breezeway and also has room for tables or mingling, then the oak tree is grassy and shaded by oaks, and we could set up eating tables there, we had that set with tables for a wedding last year, and it was gorgeous. Then you can see the pool, BBQ and bathroom area, so that way Sunny can be close and involved while she and DH are cooking, plus maybe her allergies wouldn't be as bad. Also I think my parents still have a 20X30 screen tent if needed, but I'll have to check on that. And also you can see the pond next to the pool. Also it's closer to parking and the area is wired with full sound system if we want music.

So if you rather have it there, that would be perfect too. Plenty of grass for the kids to play plus the pool if anybody wants a swim

Will there be anyone offering chicks for sale? I don't have any birds to trade.

I'm not sure how many of us are coming as of yet. I can bring an oriental noodle salad.

And BTW: kelseygirl707 thanks so much to you and your family for hosting!!
