Well we haven't actually invited any Community folks yet, But if we want to invite community people, my In laws said they wouldn't mind buy stuff for Burgers.

Sunny, I couldn't find a post that said we were definitely doing 11am. Maybe it was a PM?

. I can put whatever time we think would be best. Kelseygirl, what do you think?

Sunny, I don't think you have to actually provide enough for EVERYONE at the chickenstock. If everyone brings something, then we will have enough if we share. It would cost you way too much to provide meat for everyone, even if it's just BYCers. So, several people bring meat, several brings salads, etc.

The same would have to go for anyone coming from outside BYC. They would have to be willing to contribute. I would also hope they were chicken owners who wanted to see what BYC was about, not just non-chicken people looking to come to a party. Does this make sense? Am I being unfriendly?

Really anytime is fine with me. I would go by when people want to eat, for example if they want to eat at noon, then we should start at 11, as Sunny said it would take about an hour to prepare food.

we should probably just go with 11am. people can show up whenever it works for them. we can just make sure there is a food committee to help Sunny who would promise to get there early. we also need to have a clean-up committee who would promise to stay late. And, as Sunny mentioned, we still need drinks, ice, chips. I can always bring something more, but I think those who already signed up should wait to do that until the *wait-til-the-last-minute* crew joins us. (ahem, nifty, cough, cough

Thanks Kelseygirl for the PM! I haven't been on BYC in a little while so I missed this!

I am from Kelseyville, so how could I possibly miss this?

I will talk it over with my husband and see how we can help.

Yay, I am soo glad you can make it!

On a Side note, there was a add on craigslist from a Kelseyville gal, who had all kinds of different breeds of Chickens, so I invited her to join us, and sent her the link to this thread, and got this message back.

I raise replacement pullets, specializing in rare/heritage breeds.....I also have Turkeys-rare/heritage, are they allowed as well.since I live so close I would be happy to volunteer for clean up,and for food a yogurt salad.are you doing a raffle?I have chicken gifts I was saving for wine country chicken group but they
Didn't do anything or I missed it.btw if you do a fundraising raffle many feedstorea and hatcheries will donate!

And since this is my first Chickenstock, and I have no Idea what actually goes on, I thought I would ask you experts. Will we be doing any kind of raffle? Do we have anything to fund raise for?

Thanks Steffanie! I wasn't going to try to feed everyone but I know if a lot of folks come at the last minute it can be difficult to get enough food for everyone! The usual suggested amount for potlucks is to bring enough for your family and 1 other family but I always bring more than this whether I should or not.

Can't help it. I love to feed people. So are we going with 11am and folks can filter in later if they like? Do we have an estimate for how many folks are coming or how many are camping? I think we still have room for 2 more families at the camp sites.

BTW I don't remember where I heard 11 from. Very well could have been a PM.

Hi Sunny!

Yes, let's just go with 11am. I'll update the first post.

I'm camping with you, so I can be a part of the set-up/food committee. (Somehow, I bet I end up on the clean-up committee, too.)
We are bringing another 13 year old, so DSO's DS will have a friend. They ALL like to fish.
