No. Calif. Chickenstock June 5, Kelseyville! memories and pics, p. 42+

This is an odd request that I doubt can be fulfilled, but does anyone here have a chukar you wouldn't mind giving up at the Chicken Stock? I ended up taking one in as a pet the other day unexpectedly and it could use a friend. If not, I found an ad on Craigslist to respond to!

Definitely!

PS. Kelsey's mom is picking up Fav eggs from me on the way up. If anyone wants Barnevelder eggs let me know and I can send them with her.

My best Barnie just went broody yesterday, hopefully she'll give up soon. I am not having her stop laying for 2+ months! I'm all for natural living & sustainability but I want her eggs, poor girl.

I have a question.

Is this Chickenstock something that is open to the public, or a BYC only kinda thing. My MIL, said that there are a lot of people around lake county that would probably attend if it's a Open thing. She said if you guys wanted to have it open to the public, she could buy Burgers to supplement for the extra people. But if its more of a BYC thing, that's fine too, my MIL was just wondering if she should spread the word.

I think it is open to the public as the BYC is a public forum. It does not require membership our families are invited and none of us really knows anyone else only our log in name.

I was so looking forward to this, but lost track of is last month when my mom passed away and then my dad also passed away one the first of this month, so just been kind of there, but not. One of the reasons I hadn't checked in or offered to help.

I was hoping this was going to be something I could do to just relax and have fun.

Youngest son is graduating JH on the first, but my oldest grandchild is graduating HS on the 4th. Then off to college for football. Happy, but sad.

Don't think hubby would be able to hang in there with me.

OH, I want to go sooo bad!

BTW......where is Kelseyville?

I just read a few posts and saw the eggs and birds that are going to be there and I'm getting dizzy. There are so many breeds that I would love to have even a couple of for now.

Maybe some miracle will happen and I can still go.

Is there any post on here that give all of the details? I'm reading, but have serious pc problems and takes me so long to find anything. Figure if I can show it to hubby maybe we can actually attend.

I just feel bad that I don't have eggs or birds to take with me. I have some EExBR, but my Buff Lace Polish are on strike.

In case this one passes me by, is there still going ot be another one this year as was mentioned?

Ok I need to give the thread back to those who need to take care of business, but if it's not to much trouble I'd really appreciate all the details. Maybe even the camping if it's ok to get there late.

If we don't make it, all of you have a wonderful time, but remember I'm home and miserable. LOL

Wolftracks, sorry things have been so incredibly tough on you lately.

I have been promising to update the first post with the camping details. Sunny has done such a great job of getting that going. The other details are being kept updated in that first post also. I've been away for a few days, so haven't been posting. I'll try to get everything up to speed tonight before I go to bed.

Wolftracks so sorry to hear of the loss of both your parents!

I think you should definitely come. You need a distraction right now and we would love to have you! The event is just a little closer to you than it is to me, head north on I-5 to Williams then West on 20 and then turn left on 53 and right on 29. Kelseyville is on the west side of Clear Lake. It's peaceful and there is a wildlife sanctuary at the South end of the lake that you and DH might want to check out on the drive back the next morning. We have plenty of room at the campsites so come on up! According to Google it is a 3 and 3/4 hour drive from Modesto. Good luck!

Kelseygirl I love the idea of opening it up to locals. It's a great way of promoting BYC and it will add a more festive feel if we are entertaining visitors as well.
