No comb on 8 week old chicken?

My 8 1/2 week old gold laced Wyandotte(Piper)

doesn't have a comb yet, why? I'm new to chickens and just curious! Thanks!

Wyandottes have pea combs and they are usually pretty small. It's a good thing that her comb is small otherwise she'd be a boy.
If you google wyandotte chickens then the pics will show you that they have small combs anyway.

All true - except they have rose combs, not pea.

Sometimes Wyandottes have single combs too.

No problem. I was a total newbie once too. I only have 4 9 week old chicks and two more 2 day old chicks! These are my first chickens. I read a lot of chicken books before I got these so that where I got all my info.
