Good morning! I would love some help figuring out if I have some males or females! In the pictures you will see RIR's about 14 weeks.. and RI red/ Americauna mixed.. about 12 weeks. =)
I don't see any cockerels and I don't see any RIR either.
Cockerels show themselves, normally, regardless of breed, at six weeks. Their combs and wattles will sprout and be dark red, while pullets combs remain yellowish and sprout no wattles until closer to point of lay.
No roosters in there if you are sure of their ages.
I also don't see anything that looks like it has a drop of Ameraucana in it, either. They would have pea combs, if so. The ones with white look like red sex link pullets.
Thanks everyone! I am happy to hear all opinions!! =) I hatched the chicks in my classroom this year. The eggs came from a farm with Americaunas and RIR. Some eggs were blue and some were brown... So what are my chickens called??
